President discusses strengthening bilateral relations with envoys of Japan, Oman

Japan’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Hideaki Mizukoshi has stated that he will continue to support the program with the International Monetary Fund and the strengthening of bilateral relations for Sri Lanka’s development.

Meeting with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the President’s House in Colombo this afternoon (01), the Japanese Ambassador Hideki Misukoshi said that steps will be taken to maintain the economic, social and cultural ties with Sri Lanka.

President Rajapaksa thanked the Ambassador for Japan’s support to Sri Lanka.

Ahmed Ali Saeed Al Rashdi, the Ambassador of Oman to Sri Lanka, has told the President that Oman will support the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries in terms of fuel, gas, energy, employment and investment opportunities.

The Omani ambassador, who is to leave the island after finishing his service, mentioned this while meeting President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the President’s House in Colombo today (01).
Noting that about 25,000 Sri Lankans are currently working in Oman, the President asked the Ambassador to assist in increasing job opportunities for Sri Lankans in Oman in the training sector.

The President appreciated the support given to Sri Lanka during the 08 years of service of Ambassador Syed Al Rashd and discussed the wide scope for trade and investment opportunities in the country.

Mr. Rashd mentioned to the President that he is slated to report to the service of the Omani Foreign Ministry and work to strengthen the relations between the two countries from there.
