DFCC Bank Wins “One of Sri Lanka’s Most Outstanding Women-Friendly Workplaces” Award….

A pioneer in sustainable banking and women’s empowerment in the workplace and through entrepreneurship, DFCC Bank was recently recognized as “One of Sri Lanka’s Most Outstanding Women-Friendly Workplaces, by CIMA, together with Sri Lanka’s most popular women’s magazine, Satyn. In line with its sustainability strategy and values, DFCC Bank has always striven to create an open, fair, safe, transparent, and comfortable workplace for both men and women. These efforts have been recognized by this Award, presented to DFCC Bank at the CIMA Satyn Women-Friendly Workplace Awards Ceremony, held  on 30th of September 2022.

Commenting on the achievement, Sonali Jayasinghe, Senior Vice President – Human Resources at DFCC Bank said, “Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) has been integrated into our core system of values and beliefs. Driven by this and our lifelong quest for an open, fair, and safe workplace, we have implemented many mechanisms to ensure safety for women, and men, in the workplace. These mechanisms include a formal and open communication and grievance escalation mechanism, together with many other initiatives to promote work-life balance and all forms of support. For women specifically, we have our ‘Reach Out’ programme, a unique all-female support network to seek advice on personal and professional matters. We also have mechanisms to identify, train and support promising female talent to advance in their careers with the Bank.”

In addition to creating a women-friendly workplace, DFCC Bank’s support for women extends to all Sri Lankan women through its DFCC Aloka proposition, a comprehensive women-centric banking proposition offering credit cards, savings and investment products and various other benefits tailored for women. DFCC Aloka also provides loans and grants through arrangements with international financiers to promote female entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka, along with supporting services such as knowledge-sharing workshops, technical expertise, and consultancy services for women-owned and women-run MSMEs.
