Encouraging fathers to be involved in every step of the pregnancy, including early childhood care, promotes better outcomes for the child, strengthens bonds between parents, and makes for a fulfilling and inclusive parental experience. Along with promoting inclusive parenting, the parental clinics also advised fathers on how they should be involved and supportive when the baby is born and how they can be engaged in early childhood development in order to improve the child’s physical and mental well-being.
Furthermore, the activation was conducted with the association of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, Ministry of Health (MoH), and the Early Child Care Development Authority. The parental clinics were held from 24th November to 3rd December 2022 at Baddegama, Habaraduwa, Imaduwa, Yakkalamulla, Hikkaduwa, Gonapinuwala, Ambalangoda, Elpitiya and Akmeemana, covering the entire Galle district. This was the third edition of the parental clinics by Baby Cheramy.
