P&S takes centre stage at Melbourne Bakmaha Ulela..

Perera & Sons (P&S), the country’s largest quick service restaurant chain, recently ushered in the Avurudu season by making its debut in at the Melbourne Bakmaha Ulela, hosted at the Dandenong Showroom. The event marked P&S’s first ever participation at a community event in Melbourne, where the iconic brand brought its beloved local flavours to the Sri Lanka diaspora in Australia.

From classic savouries to ever popular sweets, the P&S food stall offered a true taste of home with over 20 varieties of authentic, homegrown favourites. The stall garnered a significant gathering and received phenomenal feedback from attendees, who were taken back to Sri Lanka with each bite. The event was attended by Mr. Avishka Perera, Director of Perera & Sons, and other key members of the P&S team.

Speaking about the event, Mr. Avishka Perera stated, “It was truly heartwarming to be part of the Melbourne Bakmaha Ulela and witness the love and excitement from our customers in Australia. Seeing people queue up in front of our stall reminded us of why we do what we do—to bring comfort, flavor, and a little piece of home to Sri Lankans across the world. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners at Green Asia Pty Ltd for their continued support and to the Sri Lanka German Technical Training Institute Old Boys’ Association of Australia Inc for organizing such a vibrant and memorable event.”

This successful event further solidifies P&S’s global mission to ‘Elevate Sri Lanka’s Finest Flavours Worldwide’. Since 2021, the brand has found international footholds, exporting numerous product categories to Australia, USA, Canada and the UK., sharing the flavours of Sri Lanka across continents and celebrating culture across communities.

Perera & Sons was able to participate at the Melbourne Bakmaha Ulela through strong partnerships with their Australian business partner, Green Asia Pty Ltd, and the Sri Lanka German Technical Training Institute Old Boys Association of Australia Inc, who were the chief organisers of the event.
