The six-year-old girl who was receiving treatment at the Borella Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital related to the recent Magammana fire died of burn injuries yesterday, Kahathuduwa Police said.
She was the only remaining member in her family as her elder sister had died three days after the incident and her parents on the day of the fire.
A man, his wife and their two daughters were hospitalized with serious injuries when a fire broke out in a room on the ground floor of their two-storey house in the Magammana area in Homagama, Kahathuduwa, on June 25.
The fire has suddenly erupted at around 8.00 pm in a downstair room where the family was at the time.
The fire was put out by the residents of the area and the injured were admitted to the Homagama Base Hospital for treatment, police said.
